Maria is the daughter of Miguel and Manuela and was born on June 16th, 1997. She is currently fourteen years old and studies sixth grade at the Xexac Caserio School in Guatemala. She dreams of becoming a professional ballet dancer when she grows up. Maria and her family live in a small house in the village of Chui Snato Tomas, which is near the town of Santa Catarina Ixtahuacán.
Maria’s father makes approximately $50 US dollars a month and her mother stays at home and watches over Maria and her siblings. Overall the family’s income does not cover much more than basic living expenses and therefore the computer training classes Maria has been interested in taking has been too much for the family to afford.
Thanks to the support of all of you, Maria is now able to attend these computer literacy training classes that will undoubtedly help increase her skills and confidence. Thank you all so much for your kind donations!
