His father is a farmer who works his own land and earns approximately US $40 dollars a month, irrespective of the products he is able to sell. Manuel’s mother makes towels and sells them for $4 dollars, which she is able to sell 3 per month to earn the family an additional $10 dollars a month. Despite the family’s effort, his parents are not able to afford Manuel’s computer training classes.
