Miguel is the son of Diego and Manuela and was born on February 9th, 1998. He is thirteen years old and is currently a sixth grader in primary education at the Xexac community school in Xexac, Guatemala, which is located in central Guatemala.
Miguel has aspirations of becoming an accountant. However living in a small house with a meager family income, makes it hard for his family to support Miguel’s ambitions. His father left Guatemala to work in the United States in order to make a better living painting houses. Whatever additional money his father earns from his $200 dollar a month salary, he sends back to his family. His mother stays at home and takes care of Miguel’s three younger siblings.
To get to Roots and Wings from Miguel’s house, he as to walk thirty minutes uphill to meet fellow classmates and arrive at class. Despite this commute, Miguel is a hard worker with a passion for learning.
Miguel is really excited about this opportunity to gain more knowledge and computer skills. Without your support, Miguel would not be able to continue his computer studies. Thank you so much for your generosity!
