Vincente is the sixth child of nine children. He is currently 23 years old and lives in Solola. He is currently studying at the local university and is studying to become a math and computer science teacher. He takes classes in: innovative education, computer science, analytical geometry, educational strategy, and a computing lab course. At the heart of his work is a yearning to impact the people he teaches and meets everyday.
Vincente cannot wait to sharpen the critical thinking skills of children. He hopes to teach mathematics in secondary school, but is open to diversifying his pool of knowledge. He currently serves as a basic math professor at a private school in Xejuyup, with a monthly salary of roughly 220 dollars. He also receives 184 dollars for family and work assistance.
In 2008, Vincente was eager to enter college; unfortunately, due to both health and economic factors, he was unable to afford it. In spite of this, Vincente continued to dream and keep his eye on the future. In 2009, Vincente successfully enrolled in college, and in 2010, he applied for a scholarship through the Roots and Wings Institute Association.
Thanks to your combined generosity, Roots and Wings was able to provide a full ride for Vincente for a whole quarter. It is through your kindness that Vincente is able to work towards his goals.
